Outstanding Educators Recognized by County’s Business Community

On Monday, May 11, the business community honored nearly 200 educators from Baltimore County Public Schools for their dedication and commitment to the county’s youth at the 23rd Annual Awards for Excellence in Education.


The Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce and Baltimore County Public Schools System awarded five level, five geographical area and one Berenbach Educational Incentive awards to the county’s top educators. This year’s winners were:

The evening included a keynote address from June Streckfus, executive director of the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education, and a performance by the Stoneleigh Elementary School Steel Drum Band.

Event sponsors included Comcast and Susquehanna Bank at the Winner’s Circle level; The Community College of Baltimore County, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, M&T Bank, Reliant Energy and Towson University at the Education Supporter level; and Bill Me Later at the Teacher’s Advocate level. The Baltimore Sun Media Group was the media partner.

The mission of the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce is to promote, grow and sustain a diverse and healthy business community that will enrich the quality of life and enhance prosperity in the Baltimore region.

Chamber Meets with Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown

On March 5, representatives from the Chamber traveled to Annapolis to meet with Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown and executives from other Chambers across the state.

President Keith Scott, Board Chairman Roland Campbell Jr. and Legislative Committee Chairman Cliff Ishmael represented the Chamber.

Hibachi Grill: Fabulous Food at Its Grand Opening

The entire Chamber staff turned out for the grand opening of the Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet in Parkville this morning. Thanks to all the Chamber members who attended to help welcome the newest member!

And if you're looking for a new place to try, check out Hibachi Grill. There's something for every taste, from the hibachi grill to pizza, salads and desserts.

We all loved the sesame chicken, but other staff favorites include shrimp and vegetables, cocounut chicken, fresh pineapple, and mussels.

Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet Grand Opening!

If you're free Feb. 11, join Christine and I at the ribbon cutting/grand opening of Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet in Parkville. The have nearly 400 items to eat, from sushi to make-your-own hibachi, from salad to egg rolls. And don't forget desser!
